iPods will be connected to computer as a mass-storage disk. However the the mass-storage disk will be disable by iTunes if [Enable Disk Use] option is not checked.

Remember to check the option, so that iFunbox can find the connected iPods.
The option applies to iPod classic, iPod Video and etc. iPod Touch is indeed an iPhone w/o phone module.

22 Thoughts on “iFunBox doesn’t find the connected iPod

  1. my one is ipod touch don’t have this option, but after connect the ipod still not showing on ifunbox

  2. Yes, the option is not for ipod touch. It is for ipod classic, ipod video and etc…

  3. finally I know why, I just install microsoft netframework 3.0, now can connect, so strange. but case close

  4. So weird, iFunbox is a pure native C++ program and has nothing to do with the .Net framework.

  5. wa, that strange, but something I can’t be understand, when I jb my itouch on 2.1, then connect to iFunbox, it can’t be connect, I understand iFunbox is not needed for jb also can connect, but it was really strange, after i reinstall little tools and use wifi + cyberduck for copy back my application folder, I found it can connect ifunbox again, I can’t be explain too, although this happen to me 2 times.

  6. Its still easier!
Connect via FTP/iFunBox/WinSCP/etc… to your iPhone.
    Delete /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/iTunesDB.
Than start iTunes and connect your iPhone/iPod Touch to your PC. It takes a few seconds, than iTunes have created a new empty iTunesDB and you can put new music on your iPhone / iPod touch!
You have to delete your music that still on your Device manual. Its still on your device but not available in the db :-\ therefore delete it pls.
Its in /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music/F*/*. Delete all the files with random names before you put new Music on your device

  7. Great post. I mostly agree with it. I just wonder how far this can be taken though.

  18. In Windows you must have iTunes installed, or at least AppleApplicationSupport and AppleMobileServiceSupport. Both can be extracted with 7zip from iTunesSetup.exe

  19. I downloaded ifunbox , but it couldn’t find device when I plugged in my Ipad. is it maybe I didn’t download itunes? is it use itunes?

  20. Not sure if anyone’s said this or not already, but I downloaded itunes, made sure I could access my iPad via itunes, and it worked ^_^
