The most important feature of the newly release iFunBox is uploading songs and movies to iPhone/iPod. This feature now works with iPhone or iPod Touch with FW2.x.x.

Songs and Movies can be uploaded by clicking button [Copy From PC]

Upload Songs and Movie can be uploaded by drag&drop files to [File View]

After selected media files was transmitted, uploaded songs or movies will be listed in the [File View]

Please remember to Respring the iPhone, so that iPod will refresh the media file list to include the newly uploaded songs and movies, as shown in the program tips. For the first time of transferring, reboot of iPhone is required.

After respring, uploaded songs and movies are listed in iPod.

will there be a version that works with the iphone 2.1 release?

    thanks

  4. an7agonist: not sure. The major challenge is the reverse engineering of the new hashing algorithm. Up to now, no one cracked it. Apple try to keep us out.

  5. it’s not work. my itouch is 1.1.4. after uploading movie and music, rebooted, but nothing is on th ipod.

  6. Hi guys, amazing work!

I had some trouble with my iphone 3G 8G firmware 2.1 and your tool while trying to upload a ringtone I had made.

I pasted it directly into the music folder thinking it would recognize it (i did that because I couldn’t list as many folders as it shows in the picture… anyhow, I reset my iphone once done… and guess what?…

Yeap, had to do the posted trick to full itunes and restored a backup.

My iphone is not jailbraked. Should it be in order to fully take advantage of your tool?

  7. Very interesting article, i bookmarked your blog, thanks for share

    Can’t load videos to ipod.

The application iFunbox closes itself almost at the end of the loading process and creates a dmp file on my desktop.

The thing is I don’t know what to use to read a dmp file and see what happens.

    Any ideas?

  24. Hey, i love ifunbox. However,
it would be sooo cool if people could plug there iphone in any random PC and have the iFunBox.exe file saved and accessible in the iPhone Internal Storage/DCIM. (Not on the PC)
It would be grate for us ‘on the go’ people who use multiple PCs that dont all have iFunBox installed on.

you could simply larch iFunbox and use the ‘General Storage’ as a USB Drive!

——-Anyone have any ideas of a way i could do this?? thanks!

( is there a way/app/hack of saving the iFunBox.exe file to the iPhone, maybe in the path //private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM, But then accessible through the default windows explorer?)

Thanks again for any help with this!

Hi, I have exactly the same problem as Tovarisch_P and Panz3l: no iPod and Video folder. I have an iPod 3g with 4.x version. I would like to get some help on how to copy music to iPod from my pc. I have tried to copy songs to an existing folder with music (you have to search through the directory to find music, something in the lines with “root/iTunes_Control/Music”) but when I later checked my iPod for new songs there were none.
    Help, please!

  47. @ panz3l ,

just try to use another USB cable / connector…

  48. You can copy valid (I used Handbrake converted mp4s) videos to the Camera folder in iFunBox, you may want to copy your photos off the phone first as it rebuilds your library when you open Photos again. Note that it REBUILDS the photo library, it doesn’t wipe it out, but I’m paranoid that it may corrupt things because I do *not* want to have to do a Restore from iTunes. Disconnect, go into Photos and the video should be in there.

I’ve used iTunes for getting music onto the phone, so I’m unsure how you would do it with iFunbox. It’s possible the devs removed the “iPod Music and Video” entry because it was corrupting the iTunesDB as stated in the earlier (2008) comments, but this is just speculation. Hope this helps someone.

I uploaded some songs with Itunes but after I made some adjustments in Itunes so I don’t restore, it only syncs the apps that I got not through Cydia. Don’t know if this helps anybody. At least I can upload music to my device (Iphone 4).

Added the new songs i wanted on my ipod

Seems to me like, having backed up all the data from my iPhone, there’s no way of reinstalling it onto my newly restored handset.

I’ve tried copying from PC, but that will not work as it (presumably iFunbox) is looking to install fresh apps, NOT ones already installed/copied.

Looking at the Q&A here, I think this is now an obsolete bit of software.

I backed up my iphone 4s copying the entire var directory, it consumed 160gigs for a 32g device. I found the gist of it in a keychain.plist file. What I am needing is to be able to get my old contacts before I made the mass backup and the upgraded from 4.x to 5.1.1. Unfortunately I was recieving the error “Itunes cannot save the backup on this computer” message so I have no other sources other than hoping I have a copy which I can transfer back. I have copied and moved the “Address” files back to the device but my contacts do not seem to be replaced nor changed in any way, I did have prior backup from a year ago but as part of the troubleshooting steps I deleted the old backups, so I am screwed if I don’t figure out how to restore via iFunbox.

Why this?
